For this month’s featured reading, we agree on the top three priorities that need to be addressed when responding to detection of Legionella.

1. Conduct assessments and monitoring of public water systems.

2. Clearly communicate, perform outreach, and distribute educational materials to help reduce the risk of Legionnaires’ Disease.

3. Conduct additional research to determine the root cause of Legionnaires Disease, including both sporadic and outbreak cases, and developing effective testing methods.
